the talent is generic i think maybe...anyhow you dont need that much ram...nor do you need 2 different sets of ram/speeds...

6 gigs is enough for most stuff

The RAM is actually super talent, supposed to be good...

The RAM is a long story. My first build equaled a few issues which I though was compatibility issues with the RAM and MOBO. So I bought new ram--talent 2X 4gb 1333mhz. Come to find out, the RAM wasn't the issue it was the monitor. Therefore, had two sets of 8gb and there you have it 16Gigs of RAM.. LOL

Those are the big ones. Maybe get the 850tx if you want to CF/unlock your card down the road.

[QUOTE=LAW_DOG_USMC;12415693]just build my first PC. Any comments? Suggestions? Advice?

RAM: 8GB Patriot 1600
RAM: 8GB SUPER Talent 1333

Hi,

you should have used both the RAM of Same Speeds. As in performance 1 ram with 1600 will Bottleneck with the other one at 1333.

rest of your specs are admirable !

If you do decide to go the SSD route, you can often find 2TB Samsung Spinpoint F4's for $80 each which is a good storage drive from what I've seen and read.

Idk much about Raidmax PSU's, I'm a believer in Corsair PSU's and RAM so I stick with them. I'm also not a big fan of Thermaltake cases, I'd personally use the CM690II advanced over that case, just my opinions though!

Overall, I'd rate the build in the 7.5-8/10 range, but that build would last you for years to come! Have fun, I know I do!

What resolution are you planning on gaming at?
is HDD really going to make that much of a difference... from SATA 2 to 3 no difference... the only inprovement woul dbe a vipor, velocity, raptor what ever that 10000MHZ HDD is named...

Grab a SSD for your OS and stick with your better set of ram and sell the other set... 8Gb is more then enough for almost everyone. Grab a Seasonic or Corsair PSU and call er good.. Otherwise looks good!!

I bought a 64 g but I mean really 64 gb... what is that a OS and black ops... not worth the money yet. When SSD goes more mainstream it will be more worth it... Maybe im wrong... if anyone has other opinions, im free for them before I RMA

I'll rate it a 8/10, Flash the BIOS on your HD6950 to a Radeon HD6970, then Tune the voltage and Overclock.
