I can't fit my cards into the slots

Thread Starter
On my tempest evo, my pci and pci-e cards won't fit into the slot. The alignment is off by 1mm and I've tried adding some force but to no avail.

I'm using a m4a87td evo motherboard. Everything seems to be screwed on correctly, I don't know why I can't fit the cards

You may have the same problem I had with my other computer. The space between your motherboard and the case that the front of your card has to fit into may have a thin piece of metal there(I don't know why). If that is the problem then you simply need to reinsert the card while keeping that out of the way.

Is your motherboard lined up right with the mounts? have you tried loosening the motherboard mounts to see if it isn't in place right or something. What part of the card is off? can you get a picture of it?

Try unmounting the motherboard screws and reseat the motherboard. Then screw in only a couple screws and check and see if your video cards fit.

Well I found a temporary solution for now. I took off every mobo screw except for the top right one and I placed mobo at a slight angle so I have more space. I'm not sure if I should blame the case or the mobo... but it should be fine for now

My poor audigy SE suffered a casualty :'-(
