If everyone thought the way you did no one would be buying Apple computers.
Well, by popular word I hear from Mac sheep, they all claim Macs are superior in hardware performance, so my point still stands. A few ignorant co-workers/previous co-workers all used to say that a PC with equal hardware to a Mac costs thousands of dollars and they would deny it even if I showed hard evidence proving otherwise. -_- As for OS, I object. Windows 7 is superior. OS X over XP I'd agree with, which I would only HOPE OS X would beat a 10 year old Windows OS.

You do realize OS X came out in 2001, right?

Yea, I had a feeling you'd mention that lol. There's also been OS X Leopard, Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, etc. Only a few of those are given free to original OS X owners, aren't they? The rest actually have a ~$100 price tag as if they were totally new systems.

I'm just annoyed that itunes started their "drm-free" pricing for $0.30 more per song. I'd rather burn and re-rip drm songs than pay apple an additional thirty cents per song for doing nothing.

That being said, I do actually like itunes, except it has quirks with how it decides to organize imported songs.

Which offsets the cost of Windows by quite a bit, actually. It went-Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Leopard, Snow Leopard.

Considering you get the OS when you buy the machine, and every MAJOR update cost 150, it's not bad. Hell, you can get a gimped version of Windows for 199.99, or 99.99 for an OEM version. Thing is, OS X comes in two versions, Client and Server, and aside from "games" it has tons of quality applications that rival or own anything on Linux or Windows. Windows Ultimate is essentially equal to OS X client.

But I digress. I'm not someone who will ever advocate Apple's extreme DRM-lockdown BS.

I'm quite content with Windows 7 right now, anyway. Mmmmm, hardware choices.

Well, one can argue the whole OS X standpoint all they want. In the end, I'd much rather be able to put together spare little HTPCs using junk parts I come across and throw Ubuntu or Windows or both on them and overclock them for maximum performance, and on top of that gaming which is most of my PC use.

I mean. Yeah, totally... HTPC... brains....

As an owner of macs, from the PowerPC to Intel Macs, I can honestly say that it's not that stable an OS. Safari aside (As that's too easy a target, Safari is extremely unstable and crashes all the time), when I was an avid mac user I'd get almost as many crashes from time to time as I did on Windows XP. Mostly from third party applications, but then that's no different than Windows.

Now that I'm on Windows 7, I really can't see any reason to buy a Mac again in the future. There's just literally no reason, 7 is rock solid, has a wonderful interface and is compatible with practically every application you would want to run.
