One thing to note is that, if you count a release candidate as a release, Teamdouche beat every manufacturer, except Samsung, to releasing Gingerbread. And of course, CM7 has some added tweaks that make CyanogenMod so awesome, like the T-Mobile Theme Engine.

So, if you're a CyanogenMod user, keep an eye on ROM Manager or download the files yourself. And let us know in the comments how RC1 is treating you!

CyanogenMod 7 RC1 have been released for the following phones:

-Nexus One
-Nexus S
-HTC Aria
-HTC Desire GSM/CDMA
-HTC EVO
-HTC Slides
-HTC Legend
-HTC Desire Z / G2
-HTC Desire HD
-HTC myTouch 4G
-HTC Wildfire

So if you were like me and didn't participate in the nightlies, this is a more stable version of CM7 before its official release.

I was actually debating whether to root my phone a month ago and wait for Bell's official Froyo update for the Legend. But now that CM7 is out and Bell still "working on it", it was totally worth it.

Gotta love Android!

there will never be an official CM build for ANY galaxy s phone. it's due to samsung's bootloader. it requires a bunch of work arounds that will break functionality of other phones (which is the opposite of what CM wants for anything to be signed official by them).
