HX620 - GPU rail fault?

Thread Starter
I have had an annoying clicking/rattling sound in my can for the last few weeks and decided to have a look into it today.

I figured it was a loose joint or screw within my case. The noise appeared to be coming from around my res/pump. I first turned off the pump and fans and found that the noise was coming from the side my PSU.

The PSU fan seemed fine. I had a search for related issues on the net and noticed the noise went away when I moved my cursor around. After a little more testing I found that noise went away when ever there was load on the GPU.

I swapped to the other GPU socket and found that the noise went away completely.

Currently I only am only running one of my 5770's but intend to return to both or a pair of 6850's some time soon.

Anyone think it is worth trying for a replacement PSU?

Contact corsair about it, you have a good warranty with that PSU.

that is of course if you want it replaced.
