[TheAge]Apple leads the mobile computer market: report - Page 5

I have one thing to say about this thread, being that I would never buy an Apple computer in my entire life, like ever..

Maybe because of this, companies will realize what makes Apple so appealing...

Their Presentation...

Their cool looking Apps...

Their Prestige...

They protect their clients... (this isn't always good but hey..)

Everything that these other companies aren't, whom, coincidentally are willing to risk their reputation to make a quick buck, even if their product is bad, and worse yet they fail to stay in touch with the consumers...

Big corporations fail because they are about..

1) The money... (Even if a product is bad, they will launch it!)
2) The corporation first... (No matter who gets hurt or loses)
3) Their retirement funds & Bonuses.. (Executives that is)
4) Trying to keep the Investor happy instead of who really matters, the consumer...

I thought it was three strikes your out?

Anyway, maybe, just maybe, by Apple being on top, the other computer makers will be forced to just BRING IT! Or the consumers who are tired of flimsy, broken, buggy, and horrible products get fed up and move over to the "Apple Store"...

Just like a roach motel, the roaches don't check out of the Apple Store, they are locked in!

And just like Steven Jobs said a couple years back, with Bill Gates, on this show...

"We learned a long time ago, it's not about the hardware, but the Software!"

(I don't know about you but I'm rather sick of computers which are preloaded with bloatware & trial ware, meh!)

Anyway all of this is just food for thought, you can agree or disagree, it doesn't matter...

I wish there were an appropriate way to quote your oh-so intelligent post there.

iPad is NOT a computer. To include it in this calculation, as said, one would also have to include TI, and they would FAR surpass Apple. Once you include a primary maker of small handheld calcs, Casio, Apple drops further. Were you to include ALL devices that take an input and make an output, phones WOULD count, making Samsung, LG, HTC, ALL far above apple.

TI-30X > apple ipad

give me a $20 dollar scientific calculator over a $600 entertainment machine anyday.

It's amazing how easily Apple threads are derailed into talking useless topics such as what is and isn't a computer.

The iPad is a 10" slate that offers much of the functionality of a laptop or desktop computer. It's semantics to argue over whether it's a computer or not.

Fact is, Apple's sold ~15 million iPads and that's pretty impressive for ~9 months; considering the rate of increase there's going to be a lot more of them by the end of this year.

It's amazing how people find incredibly biased articles to post in favor of Apple. This article claims the iPad as a computer, but EXCLUDES millions of other devices from what is or is not a computer JUST so Apple gets the title.
