Even though that's had a ton of patches and 2142 hadn't been updated for years?
The beta version of this patch had been around for ages, they've just fixed a few things and finally released it much like they did with the 1.5 patch for BF2.
Is the community for BF2142 still alive? I got it pretty much when it came out, played it a bit, but back then I was still totally engrossed in BF2, so I kind of let it slip and never played it since then. I'd pick it up again if it's worth it though.
They make updates for this game, but almost ignore BC2?
Yeah because they totally didn't release a DLC and huge update a few months ago.
I feel BC2 doesn't need full dev team attention anymore. I been playing it a lot the past few weeks and haven't really noticed a need for big updates anymore. There's a few things that need to be fixed but other than that it's not really a big deal to me if they don't release a patch until AFTER BF3 comes out.
I didn't get much into 2142. The Titan mode was so awesome but horribly bugged. I think that let me down big time.
hit reg was screwed up on the titan ships because they were mobile and i was always stuck in walls. fun game though, but the leveling system was sooooo screwed up. it took forever to level up any new class once u made it to a certain level.
I've always wondered and never found a concrete answer.
Yeh, they added widescreen support ages ago.
@ subliminally incorrect
The titans were better if they never were moved. Also the level system is was the big change that the rest of the games have followed and improved upon. It had issues but was a lot better than BF2.
Damn about time! I blame BC2 for the delay. I remember I beta tested these a few months ago. If they fixed all the bugs the testers found this should be fun.
As if BC2 doesn't have enough bugs being ignored already, they move on to other projects as if it's complete. Hitbox reg/grenade throw > no weapon/spawn points randomly changing/unzooming after spawn in/shift sprint bug/getting stuck on twigs/falling in holes in terrain/aiming behind a rock shoots the rock/etc.

If they did things the way you want no new game would ever be released. They'd spend the next 10 years and all their money fixing everything while the player numbers dwindled, then they'd run out of money. I'd rather they worked on BF3, got that released and then did a final patch for BC2 somewhere down the line.

Uhh, NO. BC2 has gotten more updates in one year than 2142 has in all 5 years. They never make updates for 2142. This is like the first update in a few years for it.

Hitbox registration never has been an issue for me. Aim for center mass if you want hits, don't aim for the head.
Never experienced the no weapon bug. Spawn point changes is called the enemy team capturing them.
I have experienced unzooming while aiming weapons but it doesn't happen a lot for me.
Let go of your sticky shift key. Never experienced getting stuck on a twig, but on trees, yes. Same with falling through terrain. Never had that issue.
As for shooting behind a rock, just stand up and shoot. I don't know how you expect to shoot through a rock.

For the rock thing, he is most likely referring to shooting just to the left or right of the rock, but it still considers you "shooting" the rock. Even though on your screen the bullets are hitting open air next to the rock.

I know what he meant, I was just being a sarcastic smartass xD

It's only 100x better.
