MSI Afterburner fan profiles. Set it up so at 70, it increases to like 40% at least. Easy solution.

Using MSI fan profile as well. I have it linearly increase from about 40% fan speed to about 50% till about 60 degrees. Then the fan speed increases more drastically. But I never seen more than 65 degrees even playing Metro 2033 on high settings. I have it slightly overclocked at 840 core and 1280 mem - unlocked shaders.

had the same issues with one of my 5850s(when i had two of them)...bought a fan off a person doing aftermarket cooling and it ran like a champ since...

You can attempt to RMA it...but hope they have fans in stock..or you might get a non ref card in return

man theres not much u can do .. my 6950 annoys the living **** out of me sometimes but you will get used to it .. make a custom fan profile , on idle i cant even hear my card but in a game i have my fan go upto 60-65% and its rather noisy but it aint thattt badd .. what can u expect from that kind of fan at 5000+rpm ? absolute silence ? no .
