850W is the sensible recommendation in order to have room for overclocking and that kind of stuff. It'll still work fine on a good 750W unit. Frankly I think it'd be fine with the CPU overclock you have and the GTX 480s at stock speeds.

True, gtx480 is 250w GPU. That 750tx usually does a more than its specs. I would say it may the cut. You can try. The worst case is it shuts down. Def look for a 850w unit.

Im waitihg for the card and in the meantime i did some digging and came across of this :

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/N...80_SLI/26.html

According to this article if i would to run GTX480 SLI no overclock on GPU's
and no stress testing software like furmark i would be just within the limit with my TX750 (at least its how i figure it)

GTX480 SLI peak = 472W + i7930 4Ghz ~~ 200W and rest 2HDD 1xSSD SB XFi
DVD + 4 fans and H50 ~~ 70W
Does this make sense ? how much does i7 at 4Ghz pulls ? i've read that about 200W ... not sure though.

i7 930 easily takes up to 220w depending on voltage. At stock for SLI and OC cpu, it may make it but not when you OC GPU or do bench.

850w is generally recommended but I'm pretty sure a 750w will work ~ doesn't leave much (if any) overclocking headroom though.

Well, in case if you're worried, this review done by Hardware Secrets shows that the TX750W PSU can pull up to 900w (at 45 degrees) if need be; it can output rated specifications at 50 degrees. Granted, I wouldn't recommend pushing it that far on a regular basis, but I think you'll be okay if don't OC those 480's any.

Like I said in an earlier post, yeah, on a normal gaming load, a pair of GTX 480s would not exceed 500W, but if you load Furmark, then you can expect a 600W consumption. And even if you were to run Furmark, that doesn't stress the CPU much, so I'm pretty sure it'd be fine, too.
In short, I stand by my earlier statement that you'll be fine

OK so i got my card today and so far so good......
I've only run Unigine Heaven to test and it seems to work just fine ,
only thing is the temps after a single run of Heaven 1st card topped 91C
and second 85.
Now 1st one is idling at 73 !! and 2nd at 44 ......weird cause when i got it i've tested the new card alone and the temps were same as my old one.
Ill try swapping them around and run Heaven again.
One question though im using MSI Afterburnes is there any way to set custom fan profile and apply it to both cards , i tried but settings are used only for 1st card.

P.S.Oh and i keept the OC on the CPU as well

Edit: And i've checked the box in Afterburner that says 'Synchronize settings for similar graphics processors' didn't work
Edit 1 : Nevermind it works now
