Extremely High Budget Rig - Page 3

At this point,I would really wait untill some Bulldozer benches are confirmed or I'd go with a 990X system.

Surround sound for PC? I beg to differ.

A nice set of calibrated stereo speakers for music, and a nice set of decent headphones for gaming, and you are good to go sir.

Dont waste money on BS like i7 970 or sli. Just get him the usual 2500k, gtx580 and use the extra monies on a fancy 500$ case, huge SSDs and some high quality monitor.

A 970 is more future proof than a 2500K

And how is 580-SLI BS? That's pretty future proof too (although the 590 later this month might be better if he wants to wait).

Agreed with SSD's though. Very important. If he's got the money get those Revo drives and you're set.

SLI 580's are bs?
Guess I'm up doodoo creek then. :S

If he wants srsbsnss speed, say no to Revo and yes to Ibis.

I think you're on the wrong site.

My sig system cost me $1300 and I'm pretty sure with another 560ti it would last me at least 2 years. And, you could always go balls to the wall full water cooling if he really wants you to spend that much. lol.

I say two generations, much more cost effective (although selling right before the next gen comes out would be very cost effective).
