[Kotaku] If This Is How PC Gaming Will Live, Maybe It Should Die - Page 3

Yeah we need more quality games. None of this episodic crap either. I love full rich games that take 60+ hours to play through. games where you know there is no padding out to waste time etc. It does feel like coders are so lazy now.

When I passed over the thread title with my eyes, I thought it said Kotick, and thought "Kotick, maybe you should die."

PC gaming is not dead, you just have to look for those diamond in the rough type of games.

Im not really a huge WoW fan like I used to be. Heck I beta tested the thing and then went on to play until last year. I dont see the point of this massive hate fest on it. If it entertains you and you have fun then play it.

I did just reinstall WoW last night to try it out the new expansion.

I wonder what would the impacts like to Nvdia and ATI's high end desktop video card if PC gaming die.

How in the hell is PC gaming dead, when the PC and consoles share 75% of the games they run? This is the dumbest crap I've ever read, and it's the same old thing every year.

Wahhh, PC's are so dead, why even buy them?

Oh, I don't know, so we have things like internet and 3D rendering, as well as being able to crank up all the eye-candy we want? PC's aren't just for gaming, they have so many other uses it would be STUPID to think that just because the games are a little stale, we're going to lose an entire industry.

PC's aren't going anywhere, PC game developers aren't going anywhere, and this is all a pointless run-around argument. Why do these magazines and bloggers say the same crap every year?

Seriously, there is PLENTY of innovation on the PC, and not to mention---since when does the PC RELY on innovation? We got plenty of genres from the 90's, and now we're exploring them and tweaking them. We had Deus Ex in 2000, and now we're getting a brand new one with updated graphics and intense gameplay; and that's just one example. We don't need JUST innovation, we need entertainment and fun as well. As long as we have at least one of these things, PC's will remain for a long time to come.

I'm really tired of people foreseeing some sort of stupid "downfall" of the PC just because games on it slowed down. Think about it; how many awesome games are coming to the PC in 2011?

Guild Wars 2
RIFT - (amazing game, I played the beta 3 separate times)
Deus Ex
ES V: Skyrim - (amazing looking game so far, and as much as people didn't like Oblivion, don't tell me you won't buy and play this game. You'd be a dirty filthy liar.)
RAGE
Dragon Age II - (the first one was very well done, and had innovation of its own)
Portal 2 - (creating portals with a gun, while a crazy robot person guides you? Sounds innovative.)
DC Universe Online - (come on, you get to create and play your own damn superhero!!!)
Homefront - (North Korea raiding the United States and taking us all prisoner? ...yeah, awesome.)
BRINK
The Witcher 2
Hunted: The Demon's Forge
Torchlight 2

I mean really, the list goes on. There are tons of games that will be coming to the PC shortly that all have something very unique about them.

We need to stop crying about PC games being less than satisfactory and just tell the damn developers what we want! I'm sick of Call of Duty too, so lets make somethin' different!

AI War is pretty damn good. Also hear Super Meat Boy was excellent?
