AAAHHHH no .. maybe .9x better , its 2x5850's on one pcb so explain how its 210000000000000000000000000 times better ? that would mean it needs 210000000000000000000 5850 gpus on 1 pcb .

ur theorys are wrong dude , go back to school .. do it for urself .

Hot VRM's when overclocking 5970's is a known issue that you can Google. I played with the thermal tape adjusting it and doubling it up helped a lot when I was using Accelero Xtreme.
I'll check that when i get it,thanks!

Hope I helped you, if you need any help, let me know.

Thanks man,i'll try those and tell you how it went. You have accelero too?(your GPU cooling says stock)

What are u talking about...?

The HD5970 is 2x5850's(kinda,it's really 2xHD5870 with lower clocks),he was talking about HD6990...

No, you're wrong.

An HD5970 has x2 HD5870 chipsets, however at HD5850 frequencies (725/1000).

But they have same Shaders as the HD5870's so an HD5970 is indeed a bit more powerful than x2 HD5850's, both on stock.

Yes, and most can be clocked as high or higher than the frequency's that are run with a single 5870

True, I had my HD5970 with Accelero which I sold, and had it at 950/1200 on a nice OC with low voltage and great temps.

No problem, glad I could help.

I had a Sapphire HD5970 2Gb with Accelero Xtreme!

But I sold it and "downgraded" to an HD6970, since I planned to Crossfire x2 HD6970's soon

I have the HD6970's on stock, don't need better cooling. Only reason I went for Accelero Xtreme on my HD5970 was that my stock cooler's fan was faulty, it did a rattle noise, and I didn't want to RMA my card lol.

How do you use the profiles and how many fps do you get on bc2?

I'm getting the same or less than my hd4850X2 :/ I think it's driver issue. And the 10.12a have the old looking catalyst or the new?Because i'm having the old looks with this drivers package.

PICS ON FIRST PAGE.

You should be getting A LOT MORE, almost double FPS from your old HD4850x2...

You sure you cleaned the drivers correctly with Driver Sweeper?

Yes, they have the old "look" of the Catalyst, but they're the best driver for the 5970.

Make sure you removed the 4850x2 correctly...

If problem persists, I would suggest a clean install of Windows 7.

Alright, keep me updated, hope I helped you.

I also had that very same motherboard and CPU before, I must say, that to get the real performance of your 5970 you should at least get it to 3.8Ghz
