Question AMD 1100T Best cooling Solution

First off, I’m completely new to overclocking, so sorry if some of this is NOOBish! LOL.

I’m currently running an AMD 1100T Hexa (6) Core CPU overclocked to around 3.9GHz.. I heard that it’s dangerous to go above 62C with this processor, I don’t know how much truth there is to that, but I went out and purchased an Ultra Chilltec thermo electric CPU Cooler, and much to my dismay it doesn’t seem like it’s doing much better than the stock cooler I had on it originally. It climbs up to 60C pretty rapidly (probably around 30-60 sec.) and I’m forced to stop PRIME 95 the torture test so it doesn’t go beyond what I’ve been told was safe. This could be due to the fact that I didn’t clean off the CPU with alcohol after replacing the stock cooler with the new one, and re-used the Ceramique thermal compound that I used to install the stock fan a few days before (probably a BAD idea). Anyhow, despite the fact that I bought this Ultra Chilltec cooler, I can use it for another PC I own, which puts me back in the market for a new CPU cooler for this Hexa Core.

So, I’ve been checking other avenues for cooling this 6 core CPU to try and get it to only go to around 60C max, under full load (via Prime95 torture test) if that’s even possible!. Does anyone know of a cooling solution (air or water) for a person in my situation? I have checked into the Noctua HN-D14, the Thermalright Silver Arrow, and the Corsair H70 liquid cooler, though all the reviews I’ve seen show temps higher than 62c at load , but these reviews generally aren’t testing an AMD 1100T. It’s usually on an intel i5 or i7 of some sort.

Any HELP with finding a cooling solution would be appreciated.

Thanks

You answered your own question. Intel chips can reach higher max temps than AMD ones. The 3 coolers you mentioned (H70, NH-D14, SA) should easily keep your 1100T well under 60C at full load.

You can even get a Hyper 212+ just about anywhere for less than 30 bucks and probably outperform stock and that Ultra Chilltec you got by a small margin.

But if you want top of the line air: Archon with 2 TY-140's, SA, NH-D14, and that new Prolimatech Genesis are all the best.

Thanks! Again, NOOB here! Which of the a fore mentioned coolers is the superior? Or what would you go with?

Also, would those coolers that I mentioned before be superior to the Ultra Chilltec Thermal Electric Cooler? Or more to the point, would it be worth while to switch to one of those a fore mentioned coolers?

Hard to say, right now it's a toss up with NH-D14/SA, can't go wrong with either, they are big, so make sure you got RAM clearance, but I think the 120mm fan on the NH-D14 is adjustable so moderate sized ramsinks got some room to breathe.

Personally I'd go for a Archon 2 fan, but I don't know if your case is wide enough to support it.

H70 is good if you want more space, but it's probably recommended to get some really good fans like Gentle Typhoons AP-15.

I have 1055t@3965 with D14 and stock fans on 800RPM
in zalman gs1000 (3 outake fans running 650RPM) I had 58C max
in raven 2 evolution (3 bottom fans@500/600/600RPM) I have 51 max

you can cool your 1100 with air easily..but temps depends on case as well..

take D14 or SA, use noctua TIM or artic MX-4
from reviews SA is better by 1-2C

forget H70..it is worse than D14/SA
it cools better only with high RPM fans (3000+ and you dont want to listen to that :") )

I have a 1090T with an H70 currently. With the stock fans mounted as intake as recommended, and my overclock at 3900MHz on 1.46v (more than needed, am upping to 4GHz soon), I get decent temps with it. Prime95 peaked during one FFT cycle at 57C, but 99% of the time it sat around 51-53C.

You'll get better temps with the NH-D14, but it's massive and might cause issues if you don't have a large case. H70 can be mounted to virtually anything that has a 120mm exhaust port and a motherboard that doesn't have a super-high-profile mosfet heatsink. It's easy-mode cooling, basically.
