VRMs on msi gtx560 - Page 2

No worries I wasn't calling you out or anything, kennyperkar1337.

There are no heat sinks on the MOSFETs, but the Twin Frozr cooler does blow air down over the PCB. How much of the downwash reaches the VRMs, I'm not too sure.

Instead of trying to get heatsinks for the MOSFETs, you could also just set up a fan in your case blowing over that area of the card. That would probably help more than heatsinks anyway.

These are the areas you should cool. this is 6870 hawk which uses TFIII, which msi finally cools vrm and mem. About clearing you can measure things and compare. Its really an experiment that i intend to do with my 460 later on. If you manage to finish this project plz tell us what happens.
As i have seen 70mhz increase in oc just because they cooled the vrm area of the 560ti tfII.

You can cut them the way you want even if they are too long it is pretty easy with copper.
those wont fit.

msi claims you dont need heatsinks on the mosfets due to there advance vrm design. dont remember the exact power phase but i know it is more than the reference design. more power phases = less heat
dont know if there is any truth behind this, but its what they claim.

but as far as the twin frozr, you need small heatsinks. there is almost no clearance.
