Many of you may not be aware that Cisco actually has a chief futurologist. Well, meet Dave Evans from Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group who has this interesting remit. Dave provides a fascinating view of some of the upcoming trends that technology could help enable in the near future, encapsulated in the concept of what he terms a coming technology avalanche. There are several choices that people and business will face in addressing the phenomenon when it inevitably arrives. Dave recommends riding it to success…
Source

For those of you who are unaware of the concept, essentially the speaker is discussing the accelerated rate of innovation in a world where technology is being produce so fast that.... (The rest is speculative but this information is NOT opinionated or rumor based, it's conceptual based and thought provocative, which is a good thing, because it makes you think, and if your business owner or an Entrepreneur he shares important insight!)

Discuss your thoughts on the Technology Avalanche, it's possible future impact, and where you may see Technology going...

A year but now that we are further forward in the future we see what this Futurologist says in today's world, which is where the real news is..

Possibly the reader can digest & come to a conclusion from the old insight this guy has, by comparing it today's news and digest what was then predictions and see them today.

If not, then this post would be a fail indeed..news or not..

If that projection of quantum computing is correct... that would probably give humans the means of constructing true AI in the not so distant future, scary but fascinating prognostications!

Also... Skynet!

I hate how technology comes out so fast and they've already planned it. All people care about these days is money (OK maybe not AMD. They offer good prices). Let's hope ARM doesn't become that.

ARM's bought out by JP Morgan. Asking it to not care about money is like asking Rockefeller to not care about controlling oil prices.

ARM is NOT the only chip though correct?

Smaller & more powerful Microprocessors will increase as time rolls on...

I just cannot wait to see what AMD does in the netbook & mobile market w/ CPUs...

I'm very excited about the new Fusion chips..
