Everyones budget is different though. But 750 bucks for a hard drive No thanks.

Yea I did not return it, won't be that of a change and it cost alot more gonna stick with the proven C300 256GB. Now if they just could get the new sandy mobos up!

@Sin0 , 480 / 320 MB/s is the corsair

Good call on not returning it. The performance increase would be negligible. If there even was an performance increase. The C300 256GB is an impressive drive.

Do you mind running crystal disk mark and posting the numbers?

I'm surprised there's not much love for the Corsair P3-256. I'm desperately waiting for it to become available (here). The upgrade from my current Intel X25-M 160GB SSD (R:200MB/s,W:100MB/s) to a P3 (R:480MB/s,W:315MB/s) will be amazing. Sure those are peak/best numbers, but so are the numbers from my current drive.

Every day (after finishing work) I do a backup of a couple of Virtual Machine VHD files (between 15GB and 25GB). It used to take 25-30 minutes when I was running a regular 7200rpm HD. It dropped down to 7 minutes when I switched to the Intel SSD. I can't wait to see that time drop below 3 minutes. That's just an example of a real saving.

General boot and random read/write performance will be noticeable too.

The Corsair 3 doesn't best my Crucial C300 by much and I haven't heard anything about the smaller versions.

These are the newer smaller 25nm NAND and I'm waiting for some consumers to show some numbers.
