Anyway, 578 to 601FPS? How many percent is that in difference?

Hopefully you don't mind, but I added this link to the i3 owners thread for the information of people researching. It will lay to rest a lot of the "zomg i3 suxors for gaminggg!!!11!1!!"

BTW, the haters can check out my 470 SLI sig rig if they think i3's suck with dual GPU's. I did a comparison with an 1366 owner that had SLI 470's and he scored a whopping 500 points higher than me in Vantage, and that was on default settings. At actual gaming resolutions, the difference would be even lower.
Vantage really doesn't matter since it will pretty much always push the gpu to 100% usage no matter the cpu. Once you get to games that are cpu hogs and do utilize 4+ threads I'd be willing to bet your 470's aren't running 100% usage consistently. We already see bottlenecking in some of these games with the i3 with a single 6850. Granted your averages are still likely plenty high but you are going to be getting lower lows compared to say an i5 or i7 in cpu intensive games that utilize more than 2 cores.

The card was running at the same shaders/clocks as a 6970, just an fyi
It was only bottlenecked in GTA IV and Lost Planet 2, which are horrible ports, and Dawn of War 2, which is an RTS and they generally prefer a good cpu. Although the FPS were above 60 so it was playable and it doesn't really matter too much. On the whole, the i3 isn't bad for gaming on any single card but for dual GPUs it would be better to go with a quad just to eliminate any potential bottlenecks.

Oh I know, I'm not saying it would be bad for gaming and when it comes to mid-high end cards it really works just fine. I'm just saying he likely isn't getting the most out of his sli setup in cpu intensive games. As I said I'm sure his average fps is perfectly fine. Just lower lows at cpu intensive areas.

And I totally misread, For some reason I was thinking it was a 6850, not a 6950.

i dont know if thats the case in uk but the sole purpose of taking 1156 platform is because its cheaper overall.....
at least it is cheaper than 1366 in my area.........

Pure bench marks. I have never had an I3 but my sig rig has no lags,no glitchs no stutters in any game I have thrown at it. I believe the new 570 vid card makes my I7 a starship. But hey if the I3 can acually perform like my I7. I dont care about bench marks ,but pure performance. Perhaps the I3 with a 570 and ssd would do the same. I dont know. Interesting to see this.
