Which explains why Android has more market share now, right?

Not for long . As far as I know, Android phones have just recently passed iOS devices and have shown no sign of slowing.

“Great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smart phones.”

Great screen, I'll give it.
Sharp design, what does this have to do with how good a phone is? I don't care if my phone looks like a brick if it's fast and decent. (Which the iPhone is, I just disagree that it's the best)
Fantastic Materials, glass on the screen is great...Glass everywhere else? Not great as it makes it horribly prone to shattering if you drop it, something a metal or plastic phone won't do, especially a well built one.
Phenomenal Ecosystem for App devs: I've heard many a person say that the Dalvik is better than ObjectiveC, plus there's always the chance your app won't be approved on the App Store, even if it's a good application.

iPhone4 is a great phone, I just disagree that it's the best phone, I'd say it's pretty much even between the HTC Desire Z, the Galaxy S and the iPhone4.

No hes right. I want a Mobile that i can also use as a Portable Media Player. Iphone is not that, the SQ is rather poor and the headphone jack build quality is just appalling. Every person i know who has owned a Iphone/touch the headphone jack is the 1st thing to go. And the Iphone is way to expensive

I personally think the Galaxy S is the best choice for Phone/pmp combo

This logic compares one phone to a whole field of products running a single OS. All things considered, it'd be horribly pathetic if Android did have a lesser market share than the iPhone and it's pretty amazing that the iPhone has a 17.25% market share since it's only a single device on only one provider.*

*The 17.25% stat predates any Verizon sales.

You must do so well in elementary school with that level of logical deduction! I will address this questions in response to the 2nd quote.

That is what happens when you have at least 2 Android phones on every carrier going against a single company who only had 3 phones on ONE network as recently as half a month ago. More phones and on carriers that do not carry the iPhone will inevitably mean that they will have a larger market share. This is common sense. Unless iPhones were also available on Sprint and T-Mobile in addition to Verizon previously, the fact that Android has a larger market share means nothing.

What's wrong with that? People compare Windows and OSX in the exact same way. Why does it matter when it's on a phone and not on a computer?

Why not say "Oh, but HP, Dell, Asus, Acer, etc make a whole field of products that run Windows, so it's not a fair comparison"?

I will, however, admit that 17.25% is impressive, seeing as it's almost double OSX's in its respective market, which is still only under 9%.

Its carrier unlocked in the rest of the world, carrier exclusivity is only in the US.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay anymore; I don't think anyone did for iOS 4.
