LANing was great back then because the internet connections were bad. Nowadays you can hardly notice any lag.
Well, I live with my folks so all our computers are together; however we can play over LAN with only one copy of the game whilst playing online requires three separate copies does it not?

And, in the case of Steam I can only run one copy of the game at a time, period.

I'll be skipping this game till it hits the bargain bin at Target.

Hmm, for once seems us in the UK don't get the short straw.

£29.99, which at current exchange rate is ~$48. That's a lot more reasonable, at least then it's cheaper than the console versions. I still won't be getting it from Steam because it's cheaper elsewhere, but it's good to at least know we're not being overcharged compared to our fellow gamers across the pond!

Always cry babies around here, especially the penny pinchers.
$60 for a game has been a bit much for games lately but what else hasn't gone up in price lately? Everything and anything has.
When it comes to something like Crysis or, for example recently purchased, Marvel vs Capcom 3 - $60 is perfectly reasonable.

I kinda got lost with which you're talking about - only one copy to play online or offline too? I'm fairly certain that you can play more than 1 copy at a time in offline mode. STEAM can't tell.
