Socket 1156 is it worth it?

Hey OCN, I was wondering if it even work getting a socket 1156 anymore? I found a deal on a saber-tooth for 130 last 1 in stock I am wanting to build a new system and am tired of waiting for the sandy Bridge issue to be fixed I was thinking of paring it with a and i7 870.

Hi well It will a complete build from what I have, My wife is an Amateur Photographer and she is doing a lot more editing with Photo shop. I do some light rendering and I game moderately as well as some video editing home movies and ripping them too i was thinking of sticking with AMD I haven't used Intel since there Pentium D days and I though that chip was horrible.

Just went 1156 from 775 myself still waiting on my CPU to arrive. It will be a definite upgrade over your current setup.

Yes the pent. D was a terrible chip. Since the introduction of the Core architecture, AMD really hasn't had any competing chips until the recent Phenom II series.

I just went from a Q9550 system to a my current setup. It was worth it for me.
