Dell S2009WB flickering black?

So August 2009 I bought a Dell S2009WB monitor from Best Buy, and now a year and a half later it decides to start flickering black.

I've tried everything I could think of... messing with all the monitor settings, connecting to two different computers, converting digital input to analog input, straight digital input, straight analog input... and the monitor still flickers black occasionally.

Depending on the monitor settings it flickers either constantly or only once every few minutes. It just started doing this yesterday and I left it off/unplugged all last night and when I plugged it in this afternoon it did the same thing...

I called both Dell and Best Buy and Dell tech support was absolutely worthless (they eventually told me to just call Best Buy) and Best Buy explained to me that I didn't purchase their additional warranty stuff so I'm basically out of luck since the manufacturer warranty was only 1 year and we're past that now.

So am I just out of luck? Any suggestions for how I can fix this? I've got plenty of cables laying around... I've noticed it seems to flicker much more when it's on analog input than digital, and certain color profiles make it flicker more/less but I can't get rid of the problem entirely.

Can't afford a new monitor so would really like to make do with this one but the way it flickers sometimes makes it completely unusable.

I left the 'LCD Conditioning' on for several hours last night and I used it for about an hour today and it didn't flash black... That doesn't make any sense though why would that matter?

Anyone ever run into something like this before?
