And what games will take advantage of having 8 cores? Don't most games only take advantage of 1 or 2 cores? Heck, I feel like most games don't even use all 4 processors of my Amd Phenom II x4. That one army rts game I think it is takes advantage of having a 6 core processor... Wow, one game out of thousands of pc games.

Pro tip:
Use more than one application at a time.

Not really the place for this flawed and dated argument..

Side question...

Are there or when will there be AM3+ boards available for purchase?

Faster single thread performance...

You do know that is why Intel is dominating AMD currently right?

8 cores isn't the selling point for gamers (they have a 4 core version too), its faster performance at the same Mhz.

This is specifically why people who rely on confidential roadmaps being posted to web sites are gambling. When I give roadmap presentations there is a lot of voice over about the details. None of this is on the web, and the overview is "all information is subject to change."

If bulldozer compatibility was important, that is a question to ask of the board vendor before you buy. AMD does not sell motherboards.
