because likely the native resolution on your tv is lower than your monitor but the screen is bigger

so your gonna have a 720p tv which is significantly less pixels than a 1920x1080 monitor and its gonna be stretched out over 36" or 42" or however big it is

the picture quality is nowhere near as sharp because less pixels per inch

tvs also may suffer from input lag and some other factors which make them undesirable to use as a monitor

monitor lcd's are far greater than tv lcd's

Then that's why you don't buy a 720p tv. Sure it's bigger but my tv is just as clear as my monitor.

May be better on paper but the percentage of human eyes noticing are low.

i cant stand hooking up my computer to my 42" lcd and it 1080p, my old monitor was 1920x1280, it looked blurry on the big screen, so i bought a 30" dell 2560x1600 (u3011) and it makes any hd tv look like crap, at 2560x1600 everything looks amazing, this is the best screen i ever looked at.

TVs also tend to have much worse default colours when not calibrated and have significantly more input lag than computer monitors.

Yup. Every tv is different. Im not trying to make my tv sound like its the best tv made, but when I say its clear Im not just trolling. I think I'll keep it untill it burns out.
