Flight Simulator X

Thinking about getting this game to toy around with and have some fun. I am assuming it would be best if I get a joystick along with it for a better "experience". Can anyone vouch for how good this game is and how much fun I could be expecting. Also what are some good joysticks that would be ideal for this game / BF 3 / BFBC2 etc.

Great fun and a great training tool if you ever think of getting a PPL!
I have my trusty logitech joystick to go with FSX and so yes its well worth getting, along with about 50 different x-packs because you will want every plane in existence when you get it!

Just be warned you wont run on all ultra, this thing is very poorly optimised!

Awesome that is really good to hear, I figured I wouldn't be able to max it but as long as it runs smooth on medium/high I am not going to complain. What joystick would you suggest that would work good with this and other game such as bfbc2 etc.

I played it using a 360 pad. It was great fun. Word of caution, though. Going online is likely to entangle you with people who take the 'sim' part of flight sim WAY too seriously. I royally pissed off some players when I got bored waiting in line to take off, taxied across the grass and used full throttle(I was flying an F4 Phantom I downloaded) to take off. I then proceeded to buzz the tower, do barrel rolls, combine the two, and other such shenanigans, while people were waiting on the runway because the guy running the tower wouldn't clear them for takeoff.

LOL that makes me laugh but I suppose that just with any other online game that people get "serious" about. The more mad they get the more you want to piss them off haha.

More on topic, I think I want a real joystick and not a controller (else I would use my PS3 controller for such purpose). Saw a couple nice ones that interest me for no more than $25-30.

WOW!!! That sounds ace, I might buy just to do this.

is the guy running the tower a real person or AI?

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work and raged on FSX
