i received my dvd drive that i order in the mail and i noticed something weird about it im not sure if im just a complete noob or not but this doesnt look like a SATA port.. or am i wrong?

Yep, it is mate.

One on the left is power & the one on the right is data.

Plug em in & it should work fine.

haha now i see.. i received this with no cables or disks so which cables/disks should i purchase?

You should plug in the SATA Power Cable from your PSU.
This One

Also, you'll need a SATA Data Cable which looks like this


If you don't have one, their only $1 or so at any computer shop or most electronic stores

You shouldn't need any drivers but if you do, just lookup the model on the manufacturers site & they should have something.

BTW, is it for a laptop or desktop?

holy hell those look alike.. and the SATA power cable is already in my computer? i already have 1 DVD drive does that mean i need another power cable?

Sorry, I edited the picture.. posted same one twice lol

Power = Red, Black & Yellow wires
Data = Solid Colour

Depending on how old your computer is, you will probably have a free SATA Power Cable in your computer. Have a look at the bunch of cables running from your power supply. Chances are you'll find one!

alright cool i open it up later tonight.. i bought my new computer little over a year ago.. so im hoping it has it..
