Question for Vizio owners

Thread Starter
I have this one.http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-E470VL/13904838. I have already returned it and got another one. I have some sound issues. After several attempts at customer service I finally got someone that sounded like they knew what they were talking about. They were calling it a handshake issue. Basically sometimes when you switch channels the sound will cut off and on almost like it;s stuttering. Doesn't last for long. Vizio is blaming it on the cable box sending the signal through HDMI cable. I have a new box so don't think it's that. Research on internet makes me believe it's a Vizio problem. Does anyone else have this problem? Is their a fix or is it a common problem with HDMI cables or just Vizio?

I would really like to keep this because of the 120Hz but the sound is driving me crazy. I may possibly exchange it for this one. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-LN46C530/13908912

I have their 42" Gallevia and never had a problem. It was even a display model with who knows how many hours on it.

If your box has component hook up and rca audio hookups then try that and see what happens.

Could be a bad hdmi cable. I have two that are the same. One wrks fine and the other makes a ticking noise through the speakers.

I have tried 2 HDMI cables. Just don't want to use componet cables as thats a lot of cables compaired to a HDMI. Maybe I will call the cable company again.

Their is something called smooth motion that I think changes the Hz. I might try the component cables but I think she is probably right. I never have issues with my Blu-ray player and don't think both sets would be bad.

I was just thinking since 120hz is double the refresh of 60, that maybe that was throwing the audio off but if you're not having problems with bluray then I guess we can scratch that off.

What company are you with and what is the box's model No.? The boxes that tv companies give you are cheaply made so I wouldn't doubt that it's missed up are just having comparability issues with your tv.

If I were you, I would just return it. There is a reason why Vizio is so much cheaper compared to other major brands. Honestly, you can't go wrong with a Samsung.

Vizio is one of the highest selling Tv companies. They have "cheap" models but as a company they are not "cheap."

Here's a "handshake" issue but with picture problems. Sounds like it needs a firmware update.

Read another forum. Sounds like this think doesnt like HDMI connection and some model TVs.
