What is the average max load temp for i5 2500K? - Page 2

cooler master says the 212 runs at 158mm (http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6603). The case you posted clocks in at ~190mm wide. If you read through the reviews on newegg.com many of the reviews say it fits inside of that case.

Thanks Frank for all the help. I really appreciate it since I am still somewhat new to all of this stuff.

i had my stock i5 2500k overclocked to 4.5ghz ran prime 95, and the temp went up to 72,73,75,78c .. lol .. your fine if your not o.c. any thing else, but my idle was pretty low though , it idle at 28-30c . now i'm i'm overclock at 4.7ghz, but using the corsair h70, load temp is 52,57,54,53c. but the h70 does cost a pretty penny $90 on sale on newegg .. again , if you feel like your not going to put the cpu into that much stress , the $30 chiller should be fine or stick w/ the stock intel fan .. if your not overclocking .. biggrin.gif

That's interesting dtvmike. I'm going to be buying a similar setup to yours, though I'm getting the Asetek 570lx cooler. It's nice to know I have plenty of room to overclock with.

I live in Singapore, right on the equator, so ambient temps are around 26-28 C and with the aircon on, dips to 22-24C.

My idle temps at are about 37-39C with my CM Hyper 212+ (using AS5 - I re-seated it 3 times in total to get the best temps). Currently my i5 2500K is OC-ed to 4.5Ghz at 1.312V (i think I FINALLY got lucky with a processor! smile.gif )

Like I mentioned, Idle temps are around 37-39C with Intel Burn Test Load Temps peaking on Core 3 at 70C. Prime95 doesn't go above 66C on Core 3. My coolest core is Core 1.

I initially overclocked on my Asus P8P67 Pro board without any offset voltage factor, so my voltage was at 1.41V @ 4.5Ghz and load temps on IBTest were 78-79C on Core 3. I then input an offset of '-0.450 V' and my load voltage at 4500.00Mhz (4.5Ghz) is 1.312V. smile.gif

Hope this adds to the picture. This is definitely an amazing cooler, and I'm really happy with my setup. I'm just waiting for the damn OCZ Vertex 3 to 'complete' my system! Well, that and a Dell U3011 and another EVGA GTX 570 SC!

Shoot me down for reviving this thread, but what about load temps at stock for a Dark Knight? CoreTemp is showing 58*C max.

Ambient is about 72*F... 22.2222222222222222222223*C

Here are my tempature readouts at the moment. Ambient Tempature: 26c

min per core = 38c
max per core= 44c

Min overall processor= 43c
Max Overall Processor @ 100% load = 45c

Cooler: Thermaltake Frio.

cpuz: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2183597

Max i've ever seen this core doing benches are ~55c

Ambient Tempature at that time was 90f or 32-33c
