lol i thought of that possibility. Build them and sell them. I just dont want to deal with people who dont understand the equipment. Im sure most of you would understand this. Its like trying to explain how a car works to a dog.

Yes, I offered to give him custom water-cooling for 1000 USD, and guess what he accepted! entire build was close to 30K-40K, I love profits

Not really, they wanted the best and I gave them the best, along with a extremely high price tag ........ No questions asked from him either

Johnny Guitar ya your right, only thing is, I do proffesional work so i need the stability. And the geforce cards cant get the same viewport performance the quadros can or the support. There have been alot of complaints lately with the gtx in maya and max. "though i hear max runs ok with geforces due to directx 9 engine." This is for work so I got the card for work use. Rugged ect. I will still be grabbing a gtx 580 for gaming. might even sli a couple. But for now Sticking with the work stuff.

nvidia has decided to change drivers, the geforce series cards have only 1 buffer for 2d so when you get into software like maya and max, viewport performance sucks. The quadros have 8 buffers. Clipping regions ect. I mean its mostly driver related, some hardware. Nvidia and ATi have to make money with the highend market somehow!

I am working on a movie series with my brother who is interested in 3d as well. We are both artists and have experiance in graphics/acting and some film. I will be doing some pretty heavy renders 4k res, Eventually I plan on building a "cheap" render farm like the blender teams to produce my renders quicker. My brother and I are starting a company in a year or two, based on 3d and design. Eventually We would like to move into film/game design. I have been doign drawing and painting since I was a kid. Tried out my first computer when I was six, 28 now. Been hooked ever since. So the computer side is a hobby, the art side is work.

This is the main reason Quadros are better for workstation use.
The Drivers they use are designed for said use and are optimized for it and only it.
If a 580 could be flashed to a Quadro that would be wonderful because you would get the extra horsepower but to the best of my knowledge they cant and as such, are not the best choice.

Examples of the difference (and the mistake that is made often):
Putting a 580 in a workstation is an example of the saying "When all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail." The 580 is crazy powerful (hammer), but its far from effective at specific tasks (Special Nails). It can beat BFBC2 into the wood quickly but it will leave Maya bent and ugly.

Another:
A GTX 580 is like a Nuke. It Destroys everything in the blast radius.
Quadro card is like a sniper. It can kill the guy who starts the war.
If the guy starting the war is Maya, CAD, Photoshop etc and the City he lives in is the rest of computing.

Thats enough bad analogies for tonight.
Its 2:30AM and my IQ is beginning to sag quite a bit.
Im off to bed.
