powerful build for $560 shipped? - Page 5

Imho, if he can go for a single VGA set, it's better.

That RAM has got some strange timings (6-9-7 ***?). It doesn't leave much room for impriving, you know.

That offer in mobo is just AMAZING. I'd rush for it before it goes.

A quality PSU with a single 12v rail with at least 35-40a for the total system.

Don't put that 2gb 5870 on that crappy raidmax psu.

If you are going to spend 250+ dollars on a graphics card, spend the 60 dollars (extra 20 vs that raidmax) on a quality psu.

not really sure where you whole build is at

for a good graphics card, all you need is a motherboard board with a pcie 2.0 x16 slot (which they almost all have) and a quality psu.

What monitor are you going to be using with this? The 2gb of vram on that 5870 is more useful for extra high resolution setups and extreme textures / AA (Crysis, Metro).

Depending on what games you want to play, you might be better off balancing the funds between the cpu and the gpu. Some games will run better with a phenom ii x4 and a 6850 vs an athlon ii x3 and 2gb 5870. Other games will work better with the athlon and the 5870. Research the games you want to play to best balance your rig.

The Corsair TX 650 is actually 6 less than the rosewill after MIR, and is a higher quality psu. Its a good email deal sale. If you dont want a mail in rebate, the rosewill is still a better supply than that other raidmax.

not sure on the new crysis yet. havent played combat arms.

bfbc2 and cod:bo are both games that run better on faster quad cores.
