msi Hawk 460GTX not being able to run @ 780mhz while gaming

So i've tried everything from trying to change the power settings under the nvidia options to performance, however that option is not present under my settings. Instead the only option available is adaptive. I haven't even overclocked it yet since I just got the card a day ago. I understand it may be a power saving feature, however, I'm trying to get the full 780mhz + coreclock performance while i play (half Life: counterstrike Source) at the very least.. I mean c'mon.. While i play it throttles up from 780mhz to 405mhz and I can feel the difference when i game. Ive also tried setting up profiles for both 2d/3d and nothing .. Is there a way to get around this at least while i game?

Windows xp
750w psu
q6600 oc @ 3.2ghz

u should be safe up to 1,087V. also try switching different profiles in inspector, since its not sure whether your cards switches into 2d or low 3d profile.

Dang so ive switched into different profiles but i still can't manage to overclock the core with inspector .. Am i doing something wrong? Ive also tried raising up the Voltage and still seems to be locked on all profiles -_-

u cant OC the core directly via inspector, just OC the shader they are linked so it will OC aswell.
