New here - where to post my problem?

Hi everyone!

I'm new here, have a problem and have no idea where to post about it.

Could someone please direct me to the right section?
(I've read the new user posting guide and still have no idea)

I'm having a serious problem with my machine:

When playing some games, the system shuts down and restarts afer a good second or two.
This only happens in some games while others work without any issues.
Everything else (all software besides some games) works like a charm.

I've found (Google) many ppl posting (on diferent forums) similar problems without a single solution
("experts" mostly blame underpowered PSUs)

My machine's specs:
MB Asus P6T Deluxe
CPU Intel Core i7 920
2x 3GB DDR3 RAM
2x DVD NEC 7203
HDD Samsung 640 GB and 1TB
Asus Nvidia GTX285 1GB (replaced in the first week as it was faulty)
PSU LC Power 1050W
2 big (200+ mm) and 4 small fans running in the case
Win XP SP3

I have custom heatsink and fan for CPU (Prolimatech Megahalems)
and GPU (Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme)

Like I've said it only happens in some games (Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, NFS Shift...)
while others run without a problem (Dragon Age, Madden 08...)

It can happen after 1 min or 1 hour.

Never had any problems runnig many applications at once (for ex. Firefox (with 10+ tabs open),
uTorrent, Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel, Acrobat and VLC with video playing)

Comp was in service, they changed RAM just to be sure and tested PSU and it was fine.

Temps are fine during gaming, about 40-45 on the GPU (I usually have display on 1600x1024 or 1900x1200),
between 40 and 50 on CPU. I've tested CPU with Intel Burn Test with no problems.
Tested GPU with Furmark, no stability issues, peak temp was 60, was 59 for the most part,
cooler was running on max - I never hear it as loud as this was when running games.

Any ideas?
Help me please.

You have an Intel based rig, so I'd say the appropriate forum would be here

Welcome to OCN, best of luck with your issue.

Have you tried swapping PSUs to check if that was the issue?

No, I haven't. As I wrote, the thing was in the shop and they said it was fine.
They found graphic card was faulty (something with capacitors) and replaced it
at that time.

And I have no replacement or funds for a new PSU right now.

I'm assuming I might be some software problem since everything else works great?
