Venomous X fan cover question

Thread Starter
Hey

I am looking at buying a fan cover for my Venomous X.

http://www.thermalright.com/products...t_id=28&id=140

However, I've only found a retailer selling these:

http://www.thermalright.com/products...t_id=28&id=119

I was wondering if i would be able to use the fan cover for the Ultra/True on my Venomous X? Tbh. i can't tell the difference from the pictures, and I haven't been able to find any further information. Anyone got any experience using these? Thanks in advance.

You got your links backwards I think.

Either way; the covers are the same.

I actually believe they have different shrouds for each heatsink. You can get the Ven X fan shrouds here. I have two on mine and they are great.

edit: I have two laying around unused and brand new and I'll let them go for $10 shipped. PM if you are interested.

I bought mine at the same place. Just installed my second fan (Noiseblocker MP-12) and shroud on the Ven-X. The shrouds are a snug fit, but are pretty convenient.

edit to add; I like that the shrouds I bought from SVC were black, instead of the lighter color that you get when you buy the cooler with shrouds included.

The fan covers are NOT the same. I just made this mistake myself. The TRUE brackets look the same but the arms on the Ven-X are shorter...

I did make it work in a pinch, however... The arms reach too far and have nothing to really grasp on to. But they are long enough to overlap somewhat on the arms of the Ven-X stock holder. I used the thermalright sticker that's included to hold the top of the TRUE fan bracket onto the Ven-X bracket and though I'll eventually get a proper bracket it has worked fine for my purposes.
