Help with choosing a gaming laptop - Page 3

It Can game but that does not mean it is a gaming laptop. The Mobility Radeon HD5650 would be equal to ~HD5450 or the Radeon HD 4550. The i5 processor is clocked at 2.66GHz Which is pretty good but it is a dual core, but then again, not many laptops have Quads or Tri Cores. The point is that this is NOT a gaming laptop, it is just a pretty fast laptop.

WOWWWWWW! Is all I have to say to this post, thank you VERY Much, I absolutely love the G73JH-RBBX05. Great price and great specs, the only thing I'm worried about is the fact that it's re certified and only has 90 days of warranty.. =/
Any recommendations?

I've decided to make my decision on one of these 2, and they're almost IDENTICAL.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834214190

The only difference I see is that one has a Geforce GT 540M, and the other has an ATI Radeon 5650.

Could someone help me out with a decision on which would be better?
ALL I will be doing gaming wise is playing League of Legends and MAYBE Aion Online, and the rest is college work.

Thank you for all of you that have helped already.

Edit: The Acer brand is a good amount cheaper than the toshiba, and they're almost identical except the GPU's.

the one with the 5870 is great theres 2 newer versions with nvidia cards which are also very strong. first thing you should do is get another 2gigs ram and a ssd and it will be a beast. good luck

acer will probably benefit you the most with gaming and the games you play are very light shouldnt be a problem with the gt540

My last laptop was a refurb'd Gateway 7805u. I also have this ASUS G73 that I bought new. I've already bought refurbished before and if I lack the cash, I'd take the risk agan to get the right level of performance.

Big problems [like why they were sent back in the first place] should show themselves in 90 days. These G73 had some GSOD issues that were fixed with some BIOS/VBIOS update, so it is possible that the problem originally encountered has a fix. I get GSODs rarely enough, though I didn't apply the updates because I'd be bored to death at work for a few weeks if something went wrong. I have a few laptop coolers at my disposal, so that mostly solves the issue.

Little things: Screens vary between LG and AOU, may be 1333MHz or 1066MHz RAM, there is no bracket provided for the 2nd HDD bay and it cost a lot more than it's worth... I've stuck a bare drive in it and shoved a broken pencil in behind it. The pencil is the perfect width and the HDD has been in for ~4 months and it still works fine.

Alright, does anyone know whether or not the GT540M is better than the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 gaming performance wise?
I was also looking at the Alienware M11x but heard it had some extremely reflective screen issues where you can't use it outside.

EDIT: After looking at these 2 benchmarks:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...M.41715.0.html

http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mob...0.23697.0.html

It seems that the GT 540M is better than the Radeon card.

This seems to be my decision, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834115987

Is it possible to spend like 900$ maybe and get a much better laptop for gaming

Quad Core and Mobility HD5730 for $850

Mobility HD5730:

The Mobility HD5730 trade wins with the 540m and is better in Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Mafia II on high settings.
