No, it's not going to run on triple. There's dual channel configuration (|1+1| |1+1|) and a triple channel (|1+1+1|, |1+1+1|). That's it. A |1+1|, |1| is not triple channel. And it's not marketing crap, you just didn't bother to research the subject at hand.

I don't use onboard sound. And you can't compare video cards to sound cards, it's like comparing giraffes and chairs, it's completely absurd.
I actually said that already. I just mean why if many guys out there use onboard sound chip with hi-end gaming rig, why onboard gfx chip cant suit same public tastes. Or sound/music is a just cheap addition to games or something?

If |1+1| + |1|, is not the same then ok. Considering tests, whats the speed of triple channel memory (not OCed) vs |1+1|, |1|?

I OWN 3 consoles already, and I said about my point already why I dont want to buy discrete gpu for my PC.

mad.gif

because the functionality of the sound is always there, it's just the quality that changes when you get a better sound card.

with a GPU, if you have a crap one that physically can't run the game at a playable frame rate, then YOU CAN'T RUN THE GAME.

With your GPU you don't have the equivalent of onboard sound. You have the equivalent of a mono internal PC speaker designed to emit POST codes

Why don't you next time, instead of buying 2 new games, spend ~$100 or whatever on a second hand GPU? You can get a fairly decent second hand one for that I think. It'll make all your current games well worth replaying with a decent gameplay experience and passable graphics, and it'll mean any games you get in the future you'll at least be able to run at a reasonable standard??

Because most people use crappy media speakers (Logitech, Creative) with the onboard sound. Few would bother with monitors or mid/high end headphones. Besides, the difference is not that dramatic - with better sound card (meaning not some Apogee stuff, but Creative or ASUS) you'll get a better snr and a slight improvement in detail due to better converters, preamp and overall better electronics. On the other hand, even a mid-end modern gpu for some $100 is several times better than an onboard video. You'll get a boost from 15-25fps to 60-70 (and in high res). Onboard gpu is not meant for gaming, period.

And if you're so eager to compare computer sound, well, onboard video to discrete video is like AdLib to MT-32. It's that dramatic.

Not that big of a deal, to be honest. It's just that if you buy one mem stick, why not two? If you get three, why not four? You get more memory this way and a little performance boost, it's a win-win situation.

If <30 fps isn't gpu that CAN RUN THE GAME, then consoles are crap ones that physically can't run the games that were made for them! Haha, funny.

Jeeze, an mono internal PC speaker designed to emit POST codes with DX10 support, Blu-ray HD, perfect digital quality and nice speed with even most modern hit games. How do you came to that conclusion? headscratch.gif

I have my most PC games running AT REASONABLE SPEED. I'll mention them again - Mass Effect 2, Batman AA, Bad Company 2, Dragon Age Origins, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Devil May Cry 3 (which runs as fast as on PS3 actually), Dead Space 2, Assassins Creed... COD4-5 runs great too as on consoles with same resolution, so why care. I don't even mentioned older games.

Gonna take 6850. Should be good choice for 2-3 years? And what manufaturers are more preferable: Sapphire, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc? Or maybe pay a little more and take Palit/Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti?

Imo, 560 ti is not worth it unless you have a 1920x1xxx monitor, which you don't. But if you don't mind paying extra - sure, price-wise the performance boost is worth it. As for the manufacturer - doesn't really matter, to be honest. You should probably look up the video card forum though.
