Anyone with a rooted Nook Color

Thread Starter
I've looking for an e-reader but also wanted something with a good web browsing experience. I had no idea that the nook could be rooted with 2.2 and now honey comb.

anyone want to comment their opinions about the device?

Firstly peoples, it isn't honeycomb (aka android 3.0), its gingerbread (aka 2.3). Secondly, it would be much better being rooted and have something like cyanogenmod on it.

Check XDA forums before you make blanket statments. Honeycomb is out, I have seen it myself. It
Is not 2.3 , and the video has been uploaded to U-Tube.

This. Honeycomb has been ported from the SDK. It's not something that everyone would consider a daily driver, but it's not a half bad port either.

Wait, was the SDK leaked or released? I wouldn't have expected google to release honeycomb this early.

Sorry, I've just seen a few news articles around calling gingerbread roms honeycomb so I'd assumed this was the same thing

I had one for about a week and it was great. This was still before XDA got either froyo or honeycomb on there but I still loved the tablet. The screen was flippin amazing and it was a joy to use. Its a great tablet for the price and the online experience (with Dolphin HD) was great for me.
EDIT: The reason I only had it for a week was because I realized that I wanted a tablet with the power to handle HD videos and had a HDMI output (because of all of the presentations that I do). Still waiting on a good one to come out with a decent price.

The SDK (which is not Honeycomb in its entirety, nor is it the open code), was released a while back. Sometime between CES and the big google event earlier this month.

Then the rest of honeycomb will likely be released by the end of march.

The SDK's are always released before the actual products come out.
