I cannot access the paypal forum, its just rubbish anyway thats what im here for.

If my friend transfers money to my account say £30, and i have £300 in my bank, and i want to buy a phone off ebay for £320, will paypal take out the £30 from paypal, and then the £290 from my bank account?

If you have a debit card (or your bank account is attached to the paypal account) attached to your paypal and purchase the phone with paypal it will first take the money out of your paypal account then the remaining out of your bank account.

*Edited for clarification.*

Actually it will give you the option at checkout depending on what you have set up. Say you have a credit card, bank account and a PayPal balance. You can choose how you want the money taken for payment.

If thats what you want it to do, then yes. You could also choose to just bypass the PayPal balance entirely and pay from your bank account (not an option in your case due to your low funds, just making you aware that it can be done.
