Add some foam, aka bitspower minitank plus method. Look up npsh.

Whats funny is that this res has that.. it has a metal mess plate that goes on the bottom, then a black sponge.. but seems like its not enough for the pump. very weird

They'll go away. Just be a bit patient. When they finally go away, you'll be left wondering if the water is circulating without looking at the res.

Too much suction? An interesting thing with my BP mintank. Upon startup, it will cavitate if I don't push the foam down because the foam will float to the top with no suction. doh.gif

The sponge system doesn't seem to like flow rates above about 1.5GPM, but there is a solution using the top cover port as the inlet. Thread two barbs in the top cover hole each direction and use about a 3" piece of 1/2" ID tubing to extend down into the reservoir from the inner barb. Works like a charm clear to 2.5GPM and higher, very calm surface water. You might experiment with the tube length...you want it far enough away from the pump inlet so it doesn't suck the bubbles right past, but not too far that the surface water gets disturbed.

I like this much better..

Your system is not fully bled (obvious from the visual flow of water through your tubing). Time is all it needs.

Now that is an awesome idea! I'll try that. Thx!

I just had to bleed mine, and fill it up a little higher to prevent the cavitation, which I think was why the bubble persisted for me until I did that.
