My point is that 35 on a 1.5 crop is equal to 52.5. If you don't recommend a 50mm on FF, why recommend a 35 on DX/APS-C??

i see, you got me.

i've been running around all week with an FF and a loaned 50mm. i'm probably thinking outloud because i personally wouldn't get a 50mm. i prefer 35mm then skip the 50mm and get an 85mm. this is probably the same reason why i despise standard zooms like the 24-70mm or the 17-55. i just got my 16-35 vr and i'm loving the thing to death along with the 70-200.

Well it just arrived and i have to say i love it so far. This lens will work alot better with macro on the reversing ring because of the aperture ring (the 18-55mm kit lens does not have one, nearly making that impossible). Definitely also thinking about a 35mm to go along with it for indoor shots, will post some of the shots I take tomorrow
