Once fully cured what are the expected differences in temp drops ?

What is the average cure time ?headscratch.gif

and finally does heat intensive cpu stuff like prime95 help the curing process ?

As per AS5's website, "Then the compound thickens slightly over the next 50 to 200 hours of use to its final consistency designed for long-term stability."

However I have never noticed any temp improvements during the "cure time" and I have been using AS5 for 10 years.

And, they suggest allowing multiple cycles from room temp (i.e. computer off for a while) to loading it up with prime95 to help the curing process.

maybe 1c , i waited for the curing time and i didnt notice much ... Basically once u get urself a good seat the temps are low straight away .

Depends how much u applied etc .. yes prime can help cure it faster , but im tellin u dont expect any drops .

People still use AS5?

Theres so many better pastes on the market now : )
Agreed, I use GC-extreme nowadays and see a 2-5c improvement over AS5. And there are arguably even better TIMs than gc-extreme.

This is what I use and love it. People will argue that you can find better pastes than this, but when it comes to the class of paste that the GC-Extreme is in the temp differences between pastes will be .5 to 1c.

You can find it cheaper than what it is selling for on Newegg, but I just love giving Newegg money.
