i buy a game where ever i can find it cheapest, and if i cant then whoever has it earliest.

I tolerate steam, i dont love it, and i also dont hate it.

I've had steam for a year now I believe, and to be honest I really don't use it that much. It's very convenient, and the game selection is fantastic. Plus if you keep an eye out a lot of title's you wouldn't have wanted to pay full price for will go on sale and convince me to buy them lol.

I actually really like having physical media. I suppose that makes me a bit old fashioned. That is one reason I don't prefer to buy something off of Steam if I can buy it in store. Even so, I bought my copy of CivV that way and still use steam to connect for games lol.

It's not the best but it's passable. I use Steam for the games, and kinda dodge the whole social XBOX Live feeling kinda ordeal Steam has going on.

Being as campaign-style games are a play-once kind of thing for me, Steam is wonderful. If you don't like having to download games more than once, have steam make a backup - it'll even slice it into dvd-size files for you.

Downside, all your friends know when you've stayed up too late playing video games! Not that it's much different from consoles in that regard.

I love it. I don't miss physical media at all. Steam's prices are incredible, and I think their DRM is minimally invasive. I usually shop where ever prices are cheapest, so I've tried alot of other digital download services- D2D, Impulse, Greenman Gaming, Gamersgate, EA, THQ, Nvidia Store, Amazon, Gamestop, and UbiStore ... but Steam is my favorite by far.

Steam makes the pain of re-installing games via multiple discs after a format to either backing up the steamapps folder for immediate insertion, or hitting download on every game in the list you want right away. Good times for automation
