Go to the top, next to where it says "your acccount" and then click the X. it's gone. What's the issue?

Steam is great. I really like using it. It keeps track of my games, I don't have to stick a CD in the drive. It has some of the community aspects that console games have had for a while. I'm a traditional hard copy/CD kind of guy, but I find myself liking steam more and more all the time.

what are you trying to do? exit steam all together or just minimize it? if your trying to exit all together then at the top left corner click the steam tab and then click exit. it'll exit out of the program for you completely. but hmmm, that is strange... did you try going through the settings to see if anything is unchecked when it comes to the toolbar/taskbar?

I like to physically own my games, but I do use Steam. I'll usually activate my retail games on there and put the boxes all nice and tidy on my shelf smile.gif

Steam's awesome. The DRM isn't strict at all and it's soo convenient.

I like steam for the most part. I wish they were required to put a label on games that are shoddy console ports though. Beyond Good & Evil was buggy as heck on my PC, barely playable due to all the visual glitches. :/ And then there were the issues with FFOW & it's memory leak. However all the reputable releases have been fine. I like the ease of use, the lack of any requirement to own physical media I inevitably loose or a cd key on a manual I forget about and throw away. I use it to keep in touch with friends more than IM because usually they'll have steam on even if they don't have IM running. It's fine.
