Another satisfied long time Steam user here!!!

Its odd in the beginning not having the media but after you install that junk just sits on the shelf anyways.....

Internet speed is much greater than what it was in the past... My internet when steam was released (2003) was only 1 meg... I wouldn't have sat there to wait for games to download on a 1 meg connection...

Now my connection is 12 Meg...

Thanks to all those that threw in their advice... I only purchased 2 games so far... As long as the game is cheap I'll buy off steam... but if its the same price as retail... I'll look for retail or off newegg first...

I guess I still like having a disk and knowing I acually own the game...

longtime CS player (although I've mostly retired that game) that used to play way back in the WON network days.. which Steam replaced in 2003. Been on Steam ever since.

It's had growing pains along the way but I think it is bar none the best launcher/community platform for PC gamers of all time. things like the WON network and the old MSN Gaming Zone were so much more of a hassle and Steam has just erased so much of that.

Steam is good for PC gaming.

I pull the trigger until it goes click!

Steam ftfw, yo!

EDIT:
My only big complaint about Steam is that like 95% of the time, the 'Release Date' they show for older games is totally wrong. Games that came out in like 2002 will show release date of 2008 or some crap like that. It's totally misleading IMHO.
