Some monitor resolution questions

Thread Starter
Soooo basically from everything I've read here and on other forums..a monitor bigger than 24 inches-(27/30 inch), is bad unless the resolution is greater than the 1900x1080/1900x1200 res. That pretty much leaves the super expensive mainly Dell u2711 u3011 models as choices.

So going from an ancient Dell 2005FPW 20inch 1680x1050 to say a quality 24 inch Dell u2411..would I be satisfied enough with the visual quality and size difference?

I'm trying to avoid going triple monitor cause I don't feel like paying more $$$ for another card to run SLI.

definitely.......... specially when watching movies and stuff........ if you work with video editing, 3d modelling tools, you will be greatly rewarded by that upgrade.

I game and watch movies with a 23" monitor (1080p) and a 42" (1080p). There's nothing bad switching from the two. If you set the resolution to what the monitors/tvs native resolution is then you wont get a bad image. Plus there AA and other graphical settings to enhance the image.

I cant speak for editing or modeling.
