Advice needed, cheapest GFX card to max just cause 2?

Okay here's the deal...

I live in Estonia which means for the 2011 Culture capital of Europe this country SUCKS at offering good merchandise in ANY professional type of field.

Now...i have a really decent rig in my OWN eyes.

And i wouldn't care for a new GFX card if it wasn't for just cause 2.I've played so many games that i'm TIRED of gaming to be honest...

But for just cause 2,i'm willing to spend ONE LAST time for the ULTIMATE experience cool.gif because this is the best game on the planet in my opinion. And i want to finish it with the best fps i can.

Now the only problem is,it requires one badass GFX card to run it on MAX.

My current card is N9600GT OC which well...has served it's purpose very fine ever since i bought this PC,but it's just starting to get old already.

So yeah,card is a bottleneck.

I saw this card...named Radeon 4870 (1gb) and i wet my pants. It was on my buy list, and guess what? It's OUT OF STOCK now and there's NOWHERE in this PIECE of "#% country where i could buy it for a REASONABLE price.

So i ask you humble, decent, bright minds alike to give me suggestions on one of a kind GFX cards that could run just cause 2 on max settings that i could get for well...the highest price i WOULD like to pay for a damn piece of hardware that's going to be outdated in a couple of years anyways would be probably around 120-130 dollars.

Of course the prices differ a little bit here, but if i could get some names of somewhat cheap cards that could definitely run it on max i would already have a place to start from smile.gif

Oh and they don't sell gts 250 here either...so that's a no no.

There's a few cards that caught my view such as the Palit Geforce GTS 440 and above for which unfortunately i did not find ANY reviews out there and i'm not going to buy a card that isn't worth it.

4870 would have been worth every cent.I hope anyone here can give me names for cards that are worth every cent, but not worth more than i'd have to pay for just to max just cause 2 wink.gif

I had a gigabyte 5770 OC that ran Just Cause 2 on max at about 25-30 fps. I saw it online for about $120 after MIR. But i have know idea what the price would be there. Its a start though smile.gif

Yeaaah i bet 5770 would run it but that thing is like 200$ over here.

I did some scouting...these are some cards that are in my price range and available to buy around here.Which one do you think would be best or could any of them run JC2 on max at all?

Nothing that you have listed will MAX Just Cause 2. The best card on the list above, however, is the 9800GT. And its honestly not much faster than your current 9600GT.

For reference, my GTX470 maxes Just Cause 2, with about 34 FPS at 1080p. So that's about the minimum card you're going to NEED to be able to MAX Just Cause 2 at 1080p. A GTX460 1GB might do it too, if overclocked high enough.

I'd get a 5850.
Just Cause 2 gets better FPS with AMD cards.

geta gtx 460 asus top 1gb clock it to 900 and off to the races

It really helps your life if you cheap out on a monitor like me xD.

That way you won't have to buy expensive cards.

Anyway, the best option I could think of is what pioneerisloud has just said; a decent overclocked GTX 460 1GB

That's because you've got PhysX disabled with AMD cards wink.gif.

Even the 4870 isn't going to cut it. If you're wanting to be able to max out a DX11 game, you need a higher end DX11 card, period. GTX460 1GB / GTX470 or a HD5850 / HD6850 would be the minimum cards to start looking at.
