removing arctic cooling adhesive

Hey guys. I installed the accelero extreme plus on my 480 a few months ago. The ram and VRM sinks are installed using their patented gorilla-glue-mixed-in-cement-with-duct-tape thermal compound. I was wondering if anybody had an idea as to how to get one of these sinks off? Every time I start up my computer I have a horrible high pitched squeal coming from the VRM-side of my GPU and I think it is because one of the sinks is touching "L11" (not too sure what L on a PCB designates). I was going to remove it and then re-install it so it is not touching.

if anybody else has the accelero extreme on their 480 do you have this horrible noise?? :\\

You could try and gently twist it off. Don't pull it too hard though, that Arctic epoxy is strong stuff. You don't want to damage anything.

har har! got it. There was some excess around one of my ramsinks and i picked at it and noticed it was spongey, so I (very stupidly) took a flathead and pried it off (put a paper towel between the driver and the board so I didnt scratch it. It flexed a little then just poped right off. Thanks!
