Bought my daughter an Asus VH236H to use as a TV and had the same problem. Found this:

http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us

It's obscure but it makes sense when you look at is from the bottom, back facing you and snap out towards you. I haven't done it yet because the mount she is using is a temp. When I get a tilting mount I'll try it.

I actually saw the same exact thing yesterday after searching and searching and you're absolutely right with it being obscure. I did see the screws he was talking about but I still don't get how you would unscrew that middle one?

Btw, very tangent, but which TV tuner did you get her?

Could you let me know when you get a chance to do this?

Here are some pics of the thing:

People keep on telling me to slide it off but I've tried doing so at all angles, sliding in and out, it just won't come off :\\ I can't find a screw that could fit and get those three out (the middle front one and two back in the left and right).

Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

A little bit off topic, but how are you liking the monitor? I RMA'd mine due to a bit of buyers remorse and the fact that the colors on it aren't nearly as good as my old monitor. I just cannot calibrate it to make it look good.

But yeah, it's silly that the stand isn't completely removable.

I actually love it. Everything about it is fantastic, although I do see some twitching at the top when my eyes are looking up on it from the very bottom if that makes sense. But then I looked closely and it does it everywhere, but from far away, it's perfect.

I might try tonight.

And we had an extra HD digital box from rogers she uses just hooked up with HDMI.

You know, sadly after I made that post, I started messing around with the settings once again, and have finally gotten the monitor to cooperate. It's not quite perfect... need to play with it a bit more and calibrate it correctly, but now I'm feeling guilty about sending it back.
