Im not trying to be a jerk just get you to understand the boards arent trash even if their faulty, the boards people send back are not getting trashed they are taking the faulty chipset off and replacing it with a working one. Now you broke somthing that is working fine that means they would have to do more to fix it from user error so they will pass the cost onto you sence you did the dammage. Its kinda like buying a car and the engine has a 100k mile warranty but you never changing the oil or keeping it checked and the engine seizes up or blows up and you take it back wanting a free replacement and they tell you to read the fine print that says proper maintence aka user error is the cause of the problem.

There only faulty for 5% of users so who's to say yours is going to be faulty in the future or not. If it was a recall where every single board would die one day it might be a different story. Just get out a credit card or a really thin

No, I complete understand all that, and I don't take offense to any replies at all but I just can't see replacing a socket on 1 board bringing down the whole Intel motherboard empire lol. It'll get sorted out, either through Gigabyte or just outright buying a new board when releases come out.

I know there was a recall but that doesn't mean before I go return my board I can go throw it out on the street and run it over and still expect them to take it...

Cuz the company recalling them won't accept them if they're damaged cuz they can't fix them and therefore Newegg loses money cuz you broke it.

Be mad at yourself, you screwed up which has nothing to do with Newegg. The recall has nothing to do with how you screwed up and damaged your board which gives them NO reason to even take it back.

The recall is to get a refund on a WORKING board right now.

If you pull straight up and have loosened the fastener which holds the CPU down and the thermal paste doesn't annoyingly stick to the CPU causing you to squirm and twist it to take it off then fairly easy.

If you pull it off at an angle at all, they're gonna' bend

Yea but the socket is not funded by intel companys buy their sockets usualy from foxcon then they hire someone to put it on or use a robot so when a user breaks one they pass the cost onto the user. And guys take it easy on this guy hes just very mad right now heck i would to if i broke somthing that i spent my hard earned money on and you know if you could get it replaced for free you would try it remmber respect each other so the forums stay nice and clean and not full of useless trolling posts that mods have to come clean up.
