bsod, then bios locks up

Thread Starter
Computer has been running awesome up until tonight. Go to turn it on, walk into the kitchen to get a drink, come back in expecting to be fully loaded into windows and its just getting past BIOS..OK, whatever, loads up windows and it gives me the whole windows has recovered from a crash and then bam, bsod. Restarts and does this 3 or 4 more times. I'm like, OK ill go into the BIOS and lower my overclock. When I hit accept it powers off, then 2 0secs later starts backup with a failed overclock message. I'm like OK, ill hit delete and go into BIOS and lower it even more but I can't because somehow its turned off legacy USB controller so my dam keyboard wont work. Hook up another keyboard and try to get into BIOS and it goes through the whole loading drives thing...but now my standard HD and DVD are not found...then it freezes and wont go past a certain point if the BIOS pre check.

I cannot get into BIOS at all. If I unplug my USB keyboard, then plug it back in I can use it but still wont load a BIOS. I have cleared cmos, unplugged psu and waited and still wont load the BIOS...any ideas? I've got to sleep some sleep but feel free to throw out any suggestions and ill reply in about 6 hours.

Sounds like your only option is to reset the CMOS. Either short the 'clear CMOS' jumper on your motherboard, or remove the battery for around 2 minutes until the board loses its settings. Good luck with getting it going again

this has been happening to my crosshair iv formula too, seems a lot of these boards are defective, take all your ram out and put 1 ram stick into any black slot... sending mine back...
