Help with my first computer build

Hi, I want to build a pc for the first time, and I have done some research and selected some components which I want to use, but I want to get confirmation from a more experienced person whether this build will work or not.

I will be using this PC mainly for high end gaming and also some 3d work.

I am currently living in New Zealand so I will be getting some parts from New Zealand and some from the U.S. shipped. I have converted all the cost to USD.

Budget: ~$1000 USD

Approximate Purchase Date: Before April.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard/Mouse/Speakers

Country of Origin: New Zealand

Parts Preferences:

Processor: i5-2500k ~$264USD

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 ~$115

Graphics Card: MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr II OC GeForce GTX 570 $360 USD

RAM: A-RAM Value DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 2x2GB ~$50 USD

Hard Drives: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 16MB 500GB ~$42 USD

PSU: Coolelrmaster Extreme Power Duo 650W (Free with Raidmax)

Case: Raidmax Ninja ~$99USD

Drive: None atm.

SLI or Crossfire: None

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

So , I was hoping you could tell me whether this system will 'work', or whether I should change some parts.

Thanks in advance.

Another New Zealander here..

And you might want to go with some RAM that isn't so.. generic. I'm no expert on RAM for Intel, so I'll let someone else suggest something, but just from the sound of it, the RAM you chose doesn't sound too flash.

Oh, and if you can, go for a Samsung Spinpoint F3, they're great drives. Or a Caviar Black.

Apart from that, nice parts

Yea i chose the cheapest ram i could find due to my tight budget. If it will affect the performance I might choose a more well known brand like corsair?

Will the hard drive affect my gaming? I'm more into MMORPG and other online games.
