Corsair H50 Question (Fan related.)

Thread Starter
I have the Corsair H50 and my CPU is Overclocked to 4GHz stable. Though, with the voltage up so high, my CPU gets to about 40 Degrees C. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas what would be a better fan to use instead of the stock corsair fan that was provided with the H50. Plus, I have removed the Smart speed wire from the 4 pin connector (Not really permanently removed, just pulled it out so that the fan is 100% at all times, considering the H50 should be doing a better job..)

40 Degrees C.

Do you mean at idling or loading under stress? As idling really doesn't matter much. You need to do prime95, linX or intelburntest to stress it and find the max heat under stress. Is you h50 pulling air in the case or is it in exhaust? You can fill out your pc specs here, just click the link. This will help us see what hardware you are using.

Thanks, so are you pulling air in or exhausting the air out? You need to do a stress test and see what the temps are though. As we can't really say anything about idle, it is the load temps that matter.
You'll almost be guaranteed a better temp if you do a push/pull on the h50 with some aftermarket fans.

Corsair also recommends you install the rad in the back of your case and have cold air being pushed through the rad and into the case.

I used some gentle typhoon ap-15s and it worked doubly better than the stock poopy h50 fan.

Well like my specs say I use a Cooler Master Elite 360 Mid MICRO tower case so its a really tight fit. I have the unit on the 120mm fan bay atop. But I am going to have to cut more **** out of my case to get the push/pull method situated correctly without hurting any of the components on the mainboard. My original question is what kind of after market fans do you all recommend......
